He’s backkkkkk… In case anyone forgot, Anthony Davis is one of the best basketball players in the entire world. On Tuesday night, Davis made his first start for the Los Angeles Lakers since Dec. 16 in an overtime victory over the New York Knicks. In the 129-123 win, Davis reminded everyone who the hell he was, playing 37 minutes while scoring 27 points and snagging nine rebounds.

A stress fracture in his right foot has caused Davis to miss ample time for a third straight year. However, the Brow is the prominent missing piece in the Lakers’ quest for relevancy. LeBron James has missed his eight-time All-Star teammate as the Lakers hobbled through the first half of the season. After the game, Davis spoke on what it means to be back.

“I feel good. It will always take time. I was out for five and a half weeks,” Davis said, via Yardbarker. “Even though I played well, I’m starting to get my rhythm back; it’ll still get some time to get back to where I wanna be, where I was. As long as we keep winning, none of that matters how I’m playing. It’s all about wins right now. Especially we’re trying to move up to the rankings.”

Anthony Davis is hardly mentioned when speaking about the greatest players of our era. Although the former NCAA national champion also has a world championship, he still is forgotten in a majority of NBA debates. AD is here to remind the world you don’t sleep on the Brow.

Meanwhile, former ‘Cats Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley enjoyed solid games in the loss. Randle scored a quiet 23 points to go along with Quickley’s 19 points. Randle also added 12 rebounds and five assists to further his All-Star campaign. The Lakers will travel to Indiana next to take on the Pacers, while the Knicks will host the Miami Heat.

Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro lead Heat to close win

The Miami Heat have enjoyed winning five of their last seven games. On Tuesday night, the Miami Heat defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 100-97 in a dogfight. Former Wildcat Bam Adebayo has been an essential aspect of the sustained success of the Heat. Last night was no different, as Adebayo had a smooth double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The center is a shoo-in for the All-Star team, averaging 21.4 ppg along with 10 rebounds.

Tyler Herro added 18 points on 6-15 shooting and 3-6 from behind the arc. Boy Wonder has suffered an up-and-down year, scoring 20-plus in some games but under 10 in others. However, Herro has averaged 20 points per game throughout the year and is still an interval part of the Miami Heat organization.

Other BBNBA Notes:

  • Jamal Murray led the Nuggets to a massive victory over the Pelicans by a score of 122-113. The Blue Arrow scored 32 points to go along with seven made threes. Murray has been great since his return from injury and has been an essential piece in the Nuggets’ quest for first place in the Western Conference.
