17 former ‘Cats played in NBA games last night, highlighted by the play of none other than Brandon Boston Jr., who lit up his namesake with a career night. Let’s talk about a packed night of hoops in the BBNBA.

Brandon Boston Jr. drops 27 against Celtics

The Brandon Boston Jr. we all expected out of high school arrived last night for the Los Angeles Clippers. Boston had the best performance of his basketball career, leading the Clips over the Celtics with 27 points on 9-13 shooting.

Boston has had a successful G-League run and performed well so far in limited NBA minutes, but this was his breakout. He even hit a buzzer-beater three at halftime. The Kid was just feeling it.

For all the crap he went through in his year at Kentucky, it’s awesome to see BJ finally finding some success on the basketball court. And the most heart-warming part of the night was that he dedicated his performance against the Celtics to his former teammate and Boston native Terrence Clarke.

Wish Boston nothing but the best. A great kid who is blossoming into a good NBA player too. Check out all 27 of his points from yesterday:

Kings win third straight behind Fox’s 33

De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings are trending upwards…for the time being. After sweeping a home-and-home with the Clippers, Sacramento had an offensive explosion vs. Orlando in a 142-130 win last night.

Despite the trade murmurs around him, De’Aaron Fox balled out in the wins, scoring 74 points in the win streak. He notched 33 against the Magic by making 66% of his shots as the Kings have snuck back into the NBA playoff picture this week.

Who knows if the success will stick (I tend to think not) but here’s to hoping for some sort of stability for Fox.

KAT gets advice from a 20-year-old

The up-and-down Timberwolves were buried by Utah in a 136-104 loss last night. Karl-Anthony Towns only took 11 shots but used them efficiently, scoring 22 and making 2-4 threes to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.

But his 20-year-old, second-year teammate Anthony Edwards wants more out of him. Edwards expressed in the postgame presser that he told Towns to attack double-teams more often because that’s what the best bigs in the NBA do.

KAT is widely regarded as one of the most talented bigs in the NBA, but the criticisms of him are that he’s too passive. Not aggressive enough looking for his shot. Edwards is right. Towns is far too good not to be asserting himself more often and shooting more than 11 times a game.

Take a word from the youngster, Karl, and attack those double-teams!
