The red-hot New York Knicks, led by former ‘Cats Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley, took care of the Boston Celtics 109-94 on Monday night. With New York’s victory, the Milwaukee Bucks have overtaken the Celtics as the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Since their acquisition of SG Josh Hart at the trade deadline, the New York Knicks are 6-0. The addition of Hart has brought a much-needed veteran presence to the Knick bench, taking some of the pressure off the shoulders of Quickley. Quickley led the bench with 31 minutes played, closely trailed by Hart’s 27. The core of NBA All-Star Randle, Quickley, Hart, Mitchell Robinson, R.J. Barrett, and Jalen Brunson is giving Knickerbocker fans hope that they can make a deep playoff run.

Hart and Quickley continued their stellar play off the bench, as they tied for the second-best +/- in the lineup at +15 a piece. IQ shot 7/13 from the field, knocked down four three-pointers and finished with 23 points.

Randle had somewhat of a down night for his standards, making only seven of his 16 shots and missing six of nine three-point attempts. He still however grabbed seven rebounds and tied with Quickley for the most points scored on the night with 23.

The Knicks have slowly been climbing up the Eastern Conference standings and currently sit at 36-27, good for fifth in the conference.

Maxey Scores 23 Off Bench in Close Loss to Heat

For the second game in a row, the Philadelphia 76ers have come just short of a victory.

Following Jayson Tatum’s game-winner and Joel Embiid’s insane full-court heave that was just .2 seconds late last Saturday, a Jimmy Butler acrobatic layup with 1:31 remaining sunk the Sixers once again.

Tyrese Maxey however continued his impressive stretch of play off the bench, finishing with 23 points on 8/16 shooting. The Sixers are 6-4 in their last 10 contests and are fighting to stay in the Top 3 of the conference. Maxey showed his hops with an impressive dunk over Tyler Herro — a little ‘Cat on ‘Cat crime.

The duo of Herro and Bam Adebayo struggled in Monday night’s affair, combining to shoot 7/27 from the field. But thanks to Jimmy Butler, the Heat survive and advance to 33-29, good for seventh in the conference.
