Ah, Week 17. What used to be the end of the regular season now just marks one more week of stress and anguish for fans of teams in the playoff hunt. The total number of ‘Cats playing each week is starting to dwindle down due to injury and other factors. Luckily enough though we still have a few former Wildcats, notably Brandin Echols, making headlines. Let’s take a look.

The rookie gets to Brady

Brandin Echols continued his stellar rookie season with another standout game in New York’s 28-24 loss to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Most notable from the game was Echols grabbing his second interception in three weeks. Though his first interception came just in Week 15, I don’t think the pick-off of Tua Tagovailoa means nearly as much as it did anymore.

After another four tackles to complement the pick off Brady, Brandin Echols has now had four-plus tackles in each of the last six games he’s played. That streak would go back to nine games if he had not gotten hurt in the outing against Cincinnati.

Echols may just be a good corner in this league, he’s now holding his own against some of the better receiving cores in the league while learning on the fly. It’s impressive, so he deserves to get a signature from the GOAT.

Josh Allen returns from one week break

Well, good thing Josh Allen’s stint on the COVID-19 list didn’t last long.

The star pass rusher returned to the field just in time for an abhorrent 50-10 loss to the Patriots this past Sunday. Stop me if you’ve heard this before, It’s been an absolute mess in Jacksonville this year. The loss to New England just might’ve been the worst of it all for the players actually on the field.

Despite all that, Allen didn’t have an awful game in his return. the pass rusher ended up with six tackles, one for loss, on 65% of defensive snaps. It wasn’t necessarily one of his eye-popping dominant games, but it was a nice return to production after a few weeks with underwhelming numbers.
