Week 12 came and went in the NFL and we have a few notable moments from some of our former ‘Cats, let’s dive in.

Randall Cobb gets back to form

After not breaking over 50 yards receiving in a game since Week 4, Randall Cobb had arguably his best performance of the season in the 36-28 win over the Rams on Sunday. Cobb finished with four catches for 95 yards and a touchdown to complement Davante Adams through the air; who he just happens to be tied with for most receiving touchdowns on the Packers this season.

The most upsetting part is that Cobb did this in only one half of work. He suffered a groin injury on the touchdown catch and was subsequently pulled out of the game. It doesn’t look to be a long-term injury, but you can never be certain with groin issues.

Phil Hoskins makes noise in his debut

Got to take advantage of your opportunities when you get them, right? Phil Hoskins wasted no time making his name heard on TV screens with his debut performance for the Panthers in their 33-10 loss.

In only 16 snaps, Hoskins racked up two tackles and a sack. We don’t necessarily know why the seventh-round pick hadn’t gotten his opportunity until today. That being said, I’m pretty sure we’ll start to see more Phil Hoskins on that talented Carolina defensive line.

Mike Edwards saves the Bucs

You can make an argument that Mike Edwards single-handedly won the game for the Bucs–technically.

I know it’s an odd view of the play but this type of graphic is so cool. You can really see just how far Edwards had to go as the opposite gunner and the angle route he had to take to essentially secure the win for Tampa Bay.

Even before that Edwards was making plays. He only ended up with three tackles on the day but added two pass defenses and a forced fumble in the win.

Other notable performances

  • Josh Allen had three tackles on 67% of snaps.
  • Jamin Davis had three tackles on 51% of snaps.
