Wan’Dale Robinson absolutely went off on Sunday for the New York Giants. The former Kentucky wide receiver racked up nine catches on 13 targets for exactly 100 yards receiving, leading the team in all categories. He also added one rush for four yards just because.

Not only was this Robinson’s first 100-yard receiving game of his career, but it was also the first 100-yard receiving game for any New York Giants player all season.

Unfortunately, Robinson’s breakout NFL game that resembled his time at Kentucky did not end well. After an awkward-looking tackle out of bounds, Robinson grabbed his right knee, riving in pain. ESPN later reported the injury was serious and there was speculation it may end Robinson’s rookie campaign. On Monday morning, it was revealed he’d torn his ACL.

The news is an absolutely brutal blow to what was a meteoric trajectory for Robinson. A Week 1 knee injury sidelined him for several weeks, but once he came back, the Giants went all-in on Robinson, trading away Kadarius Toney, the player who provided his most competition for playing time.

Here’s to a full recovery for Wan’Dale Robinson that is as speedy as he is.

Landon Young receives first career start

Landon Young got his first career start at left tackle for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Injuries have plagued the Saints’ offensive line, and the former brick in the big blue wall was the next man up. Young had a tall task in his debut start, having to line up against superhuman Arnold Donald for the Rams.

Young spent most of his time with the Saints on the right side of the line, but he felt comfortable at left tackle. He told reporters, “That’s where I pretty much played my whole career [at the University of Kentucky]. At the end of the day, we have to trust the man next to us no matter what.”

It was an up-and-down game for Young, but he played 57% of the team’s offensive snaps and his team got a big win over the defending Super Bowl champs.

A quiet week for the rest of the former Kentucky players

Josh Allen attended the Kentucky-Georgia game on Saturday as his Jacksonville Jaguars were on a bye week. That also meant ironman center Luke Fortner was also off, leaving fewer ‘Cats playing on Sunday.

The most prominent one, Za’Darius Smith, who entered the week second in the NFL in sacks, may as well have not suited up at all. The Dallas Cowboys absolutely decimated the Minnesota Vikings all game long, winning what should have been the game of the week 40-3. Smith had just one tackle on the day, as did Kelvin Joseph for the Cowboys.

Jamin Davis, fresh off a $10,000 fine for an unnecessary roughness penalty last week that led to the injury of Philadelphia Eagles tight end, Dallas Goedert, had a decent game in the Washington Commanders’ win over the Houston Texans. The former Kentucky linebacker finished with five tackles (two solo) and a QB hit.

The only other former Kentucky player to record a tackle during Week 11 was Brandin Echols, who had one for the New York Jets.

On to Week 12.
