Here we go. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Big Ten has canceled the 2020 football season, confirming several rumors from over the past 48 hours. As Dan Patrick said this morning, the Big Ten presidents voted 12-2 to cancel the season, with Nebraska and Iowa dissenting.

The Big Ten has voted to cancel the 2020 college football season in a historic move that stems from concerns related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, multiple people with knowledge of the decision confirmed to the Free Press.

The sources requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly on the decision.

A formal announcement is expected tomorrow. On his show, Patrick said the Pac-12 is expected to follow suit, the Big 12 and ACC are still on the fence, and the SEC is holding out in hopes of finding a way to salvage the season.

I hate 2020.
