Billy Gillispie is ready for a second chance

by:Thomas Beisner03/08/11
Even with Pat Knight being ousted at Texas Tech and his name thrown around as a presumed successor, former Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie has remained fairly hidden from the public eye.  Yahoo!'s Jason King was able to track down the man that gave you two forgettable years and wrote an incredibly thorough and interesting profile of where his life has gone since being arrested in Kentucky and where it might be headed next.  Clyde has not only stopped drinking completely (and deemed to not have an alcohol problem), but he's also been doing charity work and now has the endorsements of Larry Brown and Michael Porter.  Yes, the same Michael Porter who once said he was writing a book about his final season with the Cats told King that some of the things written about Clyde have been "blown out of proportion".  It's an excellent read and even includes an apology to Lee Todd and Mitch Barnhart.  Great PR move for Clyde.
