Kentucky opened this college basketball season in the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with a victory over Maryland. Next year the Cats will be back. It was announced that Kentucky will play Providence on December 1, in the Barclays Center. Kentucky and its five McDonald's All-Americans (maybe more?) will travel to play the Friars who are losing only one senior and will return young players in key roles for the team. Also participating in the second annual Barclays Center Classic are St. John's, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Penn State.
