Add another talented in-state star to Kentucky's 2021 football recruiting class. Friday morning 6-foot-5, 235 pound Bowling Green tight end Jordan Dingle pledged his allegiance to Mark Stoops and the University of Kentucky on Kentucky Sports Radio. Dingle's decision shocked many in the recruiting world. Up until yesterday, every single analyst from 247 Sports and four of six analysts from Rivals predicted that Purdue would ultimately be Dingle's destination. Vince Marrow's longstanding relationship with Dingle kept Kentucky in the mix until it mattered most with less than five weeks until signing day. “I really love their coaching staff and how personable they are,” he told KSR when the crew visited Bowling Green for the Kroger's Game of the Week in October. “I feel like they’ll bend over backwards for their players, so that’s one of the main attractors. Being in Kentucky, being in your home state, I feel like that’s going to be a big deal and would be a big deal.” An astute academic, Dingle also considered attending Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, the school where he could have played with his brother, Yellow Jacket defensive lineman Justice Dingle. The 18th member of UK's 2021 recruiting class, Marrow and Stoops have now received commitments from six of the top eight senior football prospects from the Commonwealth. Dingle is the third-ranked player from the state and the No. 24 tight end in America according to Rivals. Dingle's Bowling Green Purples completed seven games this season, only falling to rival South Warren and Louisville Trinity. In the truncated season he caught 27 passes for 346 yards (12.8 yards per catch) and a pair of touchdowns. He also dabbled on the defensive side of the ball in big games, recording 15 tackles in three games, including a 10-tackle performance against Trinity. A lengthy athlete that can make plays in space, Dingle's future in the BBN is bright.
