Kentucky Football has picked up another in-state commit.

On Saturday afternoon, Boyle County class of 2023 EDGE rusher Tommy Ziesmer announced on social media that he has committed to the Wildcats. Ziesmer is a 6-foot-1, 240-pound rising senior out of Danville, KY who is considered the No. 561 overall player in the nation and the fourth-best in the state of Kentucky, according to the On3 Consensus.

Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that Ziesmer would take two official visits to Kentucky and West Virginia in June. Hours later, he’s a Wildcat.

Associate head coach Vince Marrow serves as Ziesmer’s lead recruiter. UK has long compared him to the mold of a young Josh Paschal.

As a junior in 2021, Ziesmer was a significant factor for a Boyle County defense that powered its way to a 4A state championship victory and a 14-1 overall record. He appeared in all 15 games for the Rebels, registering 61 total tackles, including 27 solo and a team-high 10 sacks. Ziesmer also recovered a fumble for a touchdown and caught a touchdown on offense during the season.

Kentucky now has six total commits for the class of 2023, including four in-state products: four-star WR Shamar Porter (TN), 3-star RB Kaden Moorman (KY), 3-star TE Tanner Lemaster (OH), 3-star OT Malachi Wood (KY), and 3-star DB Ty Bryant (KY).
