Kentucky’s win over Alabama not only got them back on the winning path, it also may have improved their tournament resume. Joe Lunardi bumped Kentucky from an eight seed to a six seed in his latest Bracketology, playing first and second round games in Nashville:

Lunardi has eight SEC teams in right now:

  • Auburn (2)
  • Tennessee (4)
  • Florida (6)
  • Kentucky (6)
  • Texas A&M (6)
  • Alabama (7)
  • Missouri (7)
  • Arkansas (10)

Arkansas is 25th in the RPI right now, meaning a Quadrant 1 win is on the line tomorrow night in Fayetteville. Quadrant 1 games are defined as home games vs. teams with an RPI of 1-30, neutral site games vs. opponents with an RPI of 1-50, and away games vs. opponents with an RPI of  1-75. Kentucky is 3-7 in Quadrant 1 games thus far (wins over Texas A&M, West Virginia, and LSU), so a win over Arkansas would be big for the resume.

Here’s Kentucky’s current team sheet from the NCAA:

The opportunity is there; will the Cats take it?
