Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones named finalists for awards

terrence-jones-brandon-knight The man who puts together the quietest 20 points in the history of basketball and Kentucky's only steady hand at this point, Brandon Knight, was named as one of the ten finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation's best point guard.  Knight is averaging 17.5 points, 3.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds.  The other finalists are Jimmer Fredette (BYU), Norris Cole (Cleveland State), Corey Fisher (Villanova), DJ Gay (San Diego State), Demetri McCamey (Illinois), "Magic" Mickey McConnell (St. Mary's), Nolan Smith (Duke), Isaiah Thomas (Washington) and Kemba Walker (UConn). Knight's teammate, Terrence Jones, rode your Facebook voting into the being a finalist for the "Dunk of the Year" award, which will be handed out during an ABC special April 2.  Jones was nominated for his dunk against South Carolina (nearly duplicated in Gainesville) and received 61% of the fan vote for the week.  Voting for finalists will start March 7.  And just because we need it right now, here it is:
