Kentucky has added yet another commitment from a top-five prospect in the class of 2022, this time in five-star forward Chris Livingston.

Just one week after No. 1 recruit Shaedon Sharpe announced his commitment to UK, Livingston has now joined the fold, as well, choosing Kentucky over Georgetown, Memphis, Tennessee State, and the G League.

The native of Akron, OH took an official visit to Lexington in June, followed by a visit from the coaching staff to open the in-person recruiting period in September. John Calipari was joined by Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman on the trip to Oak Hill. Prior to moving up his decision date, he scheduled another official visit to Kentucky for October 9.

“(Calipari’s) a legend in basketball.”

Leading up to the announcement, there were 16 total predictions between 247Sports and Rivals picking Kentucky to land the five-star forward. Memphis and the professional route were seen as early favorites in his recruitment.

“Well, geographically I love where it’s at because I have family in Kentucky,” Livingston said in July. “Coach (John) Calipari is a great person. You just wouldn’t think he’d be that cool because he’s a legend in basketball. … He’s very easy to talk to and just a guy you want to be around.”

Kentucky is back on top

Livingston is considered the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 small forward in On3’s latest rankings. 247Sports lists him at No. 5 overall, followed by Rivals at No. 8 and ESPN at No. 12.

The five-star forward joins Sharpe and consensus top-25 prospect Skyy Clark in Kentucky’s 2022 recruiting class. With the addition, UK moves from No. 8 to No. 1 in 247Sports’ team recruiting rankings.

At 6-foot-7, 220 pounds, Livingston is a versatile wing threat capable of playing the two through four. A much-improved shooter over the last year, the Akron native thrives on catch-and-shoot opportunities, but is at his best when attacking the rim and finishing with force at the basket. Boasting an NBA-ready body with elite athleticism and a quick first step, he’s a mismatch nightmare at the collegiate level. As an attacker, finisher and pure athlete, he’s among the best in the senior class.

Now, the five-star forward is taking his talents to Lexington.
