ULMWR-lg For the second consecutive year the Sprint Cup race at Kentucky Speedway will see a car decked out in a National Championship paint job. When NASCAR driver Brian Vickers climbs into his No. 55 Toyota on June 29 in Sparta, Ky. for the Quaker State 400, he’ll have a Louisville Cardinal bird on his hood, and a glossy red theme wrapped around it. Driving in Michael Waltrip Racing’s No. 55 car, Vickers will also sport a full blown red, while, and black fire suit, complete with the Louisville logo, and a UofL emblazoned ball cap to boot. Waltrip raced in his No. 55 car at Kentucky Speedway last year when he honored the Wildcats title with a blue and white paint job. He finished 30th in the race, but the Owensboro native was certainly a fan favorite in the Bluegrass. C552821AKMW2 Something tells me the Big Blue Nation at the track won’t be too fond of Vickers in a couple of weeks. The sad thing is, with the kind of year Louisville sports are having, he’ll probably win.
