Bruce Pearl: Shai Alexander one of the top guards in the SEC
As John Calipari said after the Texas A&M loss, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the only guy on Kentucky’s roster right now that’s playing well, a testament to the former four-star recruit’s toughness and positive attitude. Earlier this week, Bruce Pearl said he believes Shai is one of the best guards in the league alongside Auburn’s Jared Harper.
“I’m really impressed with [Shai] Gilgeous-Alexander. In my mind with going through the league, Alexander and Jared are the top guards in the league. He’s [Gilgeous-Alexander] is really good. He’s really good in the ball screen, play making outside of the ball screen and it’s just going to be a tough cover for us.”
At times, Shai is Kentucky’s ONLY offense, but he can’t beat Auburn alone. Hopefully he’ll get some much-needed help tonight.
