1. I told you last week about the Bracket Matrix, a project run by somebody who is no doubt much cooler than any of us.  They combine 52 bracket projections from around the world, and make a bracket from that.  Anyway, last week the Cats were a 12 seed, making it in 39 of 52 brackets.  This week, the Cats are an 11 seed facing off against Syracuse (a bad draw), making it in 43 of 52 brackets. 2. Let's give some big props to the UK softball team and freshman Chandra Bell.  She struck out 15 batters (a UK record) in a win over UNLV.  The Cats went 3-2 on their opening weekend, including playing national power UCLA to a 9-6 loss.  This team only has ONE senior, meaning the future looks very bright for the softball girls.  3. Alright, consider me sold on the Elliott County team being state title contenders.  They have now beaten Mason County and Louisville Ballard in consecutive games.  The argument against mountain schools is always a lack of competition, but Elliott County has proved that it can play with the city schools.  I have seen Ballard play several times, they are very good, and ECHS beat them by 14, so thats good enough for me.  I still say Scott County wins the whole thing, but add Elliott to Holmes, Eastern, Ballard, and Mason County for other top contenders.  4. Here is a look at the 10 most embarassing sports records.
