BTI's Rants and Ramblings: Hell, Even 3-0 Is A Great Accomplishment

[caption id="attachment_246942" align="alignnone" width="484"] © Kim Klement | USATSI[/caption] As we bask in the glow of the Florida win and head into what should be a very easy win over Murray State this weekend, we should take a minute to celebrate the fact that UK will be 3-0 this year.  And while that only encompasses 1/4 of the season, it is actually a rare feat for UK to go through the first quarter of their schedule unscathed.  In fact, it has only happened 6 times since the SEC expanded in 1992: 2017 (Southern Miss, EKU, South Carolina): Finished 7-6 2010 (Louisville, WKU, Akron): Finished 6-7 2008 (Louisville, Norfolk St, MTSU): Finished 7-6 2007 (EKU, Kent State, Louisville): Finished 8-5 2002 (Louisville, UTEP, Indiana): Finished 7-5 1998 (Louisville, EKU, Indiana): Finished 7-5 Each of those 6 seasons ended in a bowl game appearance and each of those seasons included win or wins over in-state competition.  Murray will check off that box on Saturday.  Only 3 of those 6 seasons kept the winning streak going past 3 games: 2008: Started 4-0 2007: Started 5-0 2002: Started 4-0 We shall see if UK can keep it going against Mississippi State and South Carolina but the win over Florida not only broke that awful streak but puts us in a position for a rare start at UK.
