Today’s a good day for Bud Dupree. Last month, the Pittsburgh Steelers placed the franchise tag on the former Cat, and today, he signed his franchise tender, guaranteeing him $15.8 million for the 2020 season. The Steelers have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal.

Dupree is coming off his best season yet in the league. He finished the year with a career-high 11.5 sacks and four forced fumbles to go with 68 combined tackles, 49 solo, 17 quarterback hits, three pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries. Dupree also set a single-season high with 16 tackles for a loss, which was tied for fifth in the NFL.

The Steelers selected Dupree with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft after a dominant four-year career in Lexington. As a senior at Kentucky, the former Wildcat totaled 74 totaled tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, and eight sacks in 12 starts.

To celebrate, let’s watch Dupree reflect on what makes Kentucky Football special, and some of his top highlights from his career as a Cat. And, because it’s Draft Day, his big night back in 2015.
