The Herald-Leader taketh (Carlos Toomer) and the Herald-Leader giveth--The
HL is reporting that former Kentucky guard, forward, or somewhere in between, Kelenna Azubuike signed a preliminary contract with the Houston Rockets. Basically, he'll be given a shot in training camp, but is not guaranteed a spot on the roster.
'Buike impressed scouts during summer league play in Vegas, averaging --Tom Gray--points and --Tom Gray--rebounds per contest. I'm happy to see the 'Buikster get a legitimate shot at the league. He's a good kid who was forced to turn pro too soon, and from the looks of things, he's still working his tail off. I always thought he would end up as an Under Armor model, so he's far exceeding my expectations.
