Bye Winning: Cats beat Vols, 64-58

by:Thomas Beisner03/06/11
brandon-knight-tennessee With a chance to capture a first round bye in the SEC Tournament within their grasp, Kentucky came out flat at Thompson-Boling Arena Sunday afternoon, failing to score a basket in the game's first five minutes and entering halftim with a seven-point deficit.  But the Cats used a 20-4 run (18-4 to start the half) to take the lead behind 11 points from a revived Brandon Knight.  In exorcising their road demons and earning the bye, Kentucky also found a way to close out another opponent in a close game, going on a 13-6 run in the final 5:24 after the Vols took a one-point lead.  Ladies and gentlemen, the momentum has returned. Kentucky will now face the winner of South Carolina and Ole Miss Friday. See you in Atlanta! sec-tournament-bracket-2011
