Calipari Says Only Superman could Start in Front of Malik Monk

monk-superman While speaking with the media at the SEC Meetings in Destin, one reporter from Malik Monk's home state of Arkansas asked if Monk could be a freshman starter next fall. “If someone beats him out,” the coach began, “I’d be very happy because that guy would have to have an ’S’ on the front of his jersey.” From Darrell Bird of The Cats Pause, Calipari has loved everything he's seen from Monk, but he will still have plenty of things to learn once he arrives in Lexington, which should happen next Monday. “We’re going to try to get him to be a little more sturdy and physical,” Calipari said. “He can already run by people, shoot it and score, play both positions like the guards we’ve had. “We were on him for a long time,” Calipari added. “I saw him early and said, ‘Oh my gosh, look at this guy!’” [The Cats Pause]
