Can Kentucky Land Every In-State Recruit from One Talented Photo?

You could be looking at the future of Kentucky football.
The picture above was taken Jan. 21 when John Calipari's Wildcats hosted the Georgia Bulldogs at Rupp Arena. The guests that accompanied Vince Marrow and the Kentucky football staff to the game are some of the best players in the Bluegrass. Here's a rundown of where each player's recruitment stands, from left to right.
Jordan Lovett -- Ranked as the No. 6 player in the state by Rivals, the North Hardin defensive back picked off 15 passes in 2019. He recently cut his list of schools to seven: UK, UofL, Missouri, West Virginia, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati.
Jager Burton -- The No. 1 player in the Commonwealth is a top 150 prospect in America. Frederick Douglass' powerful offensive guard cut his list to seven to start the New Year, but most believe it's a two-horse race between Ohio State and Kentucky down the stretch.
La'Vell Wright -- The fifth-ranked player in the Commonwealth and No. 8 all-purpose back in America committed to UK this morning.
Vince Marrow -- The Big Dog is the lead recruiter for the in-state stars.
Dekel Crowdus -- The second-ranked player in the state, behind only his Frederick Douglass teammate, and a consensus four-star prospect, Crowdus is a top 50 wide receiver in America. He will announce his college decision Sunday evening. Kentucky, Oklahoma, Louisville, Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Texas, Baylor, South Carolina and Ole Miss are finalists.
Dane Key -- The wide receiver is considered the top-ranked football recruit in the Commonwealth's 2022 recruiting class. A top 200 player in America according to 247 Sports, since UK extended an offer last summer Louisville, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Purdue and West Virginia followed suit.
Josh McClurg -- Douglass' senior quarterback in 2019 will play for Morehead State at the collegiate level.
Octavious Oxendine -- The four-star North Hardin defensive lineman enrolled in class at UK this spring.
One might think it's a little overzealous to believe one picture from one visit could be the start of something big. Allow me to show you a picture taken the year before in front of UK's 2012 National Championship Trophy. Beau Allen, Vito Tisdale, John Young, Rickey Hyatt and Izayah Cummings all signed to play for UK in December. The only player pictured not included in the signing class is Jordan Dingle, the third-ranked player from Ky. in the 2021 class that's being heavily pursued by the Wildcats.
