Cats get their running back

by:Thomas Beisner01/22/09
Kentucky got word tonight that the Deuce wouldnot be getting loose in Lexington as the St. X running back chose to continue his education at Boston College.  But, the Cats did land that elusive running back commitment this evening in the form of Florida back Donald Russell, a three-star prospect that ranks as Rivals' 49th-best back in the country.  According to J-Demling, Russell rushed for over 1,000 yard and pulled in 500 receiving for 15 total TDs and chose the Cats over South Florida and Rutgers.  ESPN ranks him as the #55 back overall and gives him a grade of 78, tying him with Donte Rumph and Jarvis Walker as the 4th-highest rated player in UK's 2009 class behind Morgan Newton (81) and Ryan Mossakowski and Myron Walker (both 79).
