Cats hold of Bulldogs in a strange one, 85-79

espn-skycam In a game that seemed to be as goofy at times as the obnoxiously irritating ESPN SkyCam, Kentucky held off a motivated Mississippi State team, 85-79.  The Cats still endured a sluggish start and a limp to the finish, but in between got 24 points and 7 steals from Brandon Knight, 17 points and 10 rebounds from Terrence Jones, 20 points from new starter Doron Lamb and four freebies thanks to an odd sequence at the end of the first half that included a Rick Stansbury technical.  Darius Miller and his injured gonads even banded together to add 13 points, making Tuesday night an offensive explosion of sorts.  Defensively, well, we can get to all of that later.  There's a lot to nitpick and the Cats showed a lot of the same symptoms that plagued them in road losses, but a win is a win and they found a way to hold on against a team that (shockingly) refused to quit.
