Cats Lose Three Game Stretch to Florida

[caption id="attachment_177370" align="aligncenter" width="150"]10995314 Photo by UK Athletics[/caption]   No. 13 Kentucky took on the No. 3 Gators in Gainesville, Florida this weekend in a three game series. Although the Wildcats put up a fight, they lost all three of the meetings. In the first game of the series, Kentucky was defeated 1-0. Although no players were able to score, Christian Stokes and Nikki Sagermann each contributed a hit. Defensively, Kelsey Nunley allowed three hits and one run in the circle. On Sunday, the Cats lost their second game of the series 6-3. Offensively, Stokes and Griffin Joiner each provided one hit and one run. Ansley Smith scored the remaining run of the game and Rachael Metzger added a hit. In the circle, Meagan Prince allowed eight hits and six runs. Kentucky ended the series with a 2-0 loss to the Gators. Maisie Steed and Smith contributed hits but no score was added. Nunley allowed six hits and two runs in the circle for a three game loss to Florida.   The Cats will play their next game at Eastern Kentucky University on Wednesday.
