Cats outlast 'Dores in Double OT!

by:MosKnows01/12/08
joec.jpg Never have I been so exhuberant over a victory against Vanderbilt. The Cats rode smart play in the first and early second halves to a 16 point lead before the 'Dores mounted a serious comeback in the last 10 minutes to force overtime. More impressive than the early play of the Cats was the grit and determination exhibited in overtime by a team that has certainly seen its share of disappointment and frustration in the early season. Vandy tied the game at the end of regulation for the first time since the score was 8 - 8 and certainly had the momentum going into overtime. However, gutty play by Ramel Bradley, Joe Crawford, Ramon Harris, Patrick Patterson, and Perry Stevenson ultimately did in the Commodores as Vandy's shooting went cold and the Cats seemingly grabbed every available rebound. Cat fans, bask in the sunshine of a win over an undefeated and ranked team for a little while as we all have needed some good news this season. Discuss your thoughts on the game below, and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Matt was at the game and is currently waiting on Coach G's presser. He will be along later to give his thoughts and hopefully an update on Derrick Jasper if one is available. Again, kudos to the whole team and especially to seniors Joe and Ramel for their unwillingness to lose this game. Go Cats.
