Cats Scratch Back.....Defeat Liberty 80-54

Patterson Scores Career High 23 Points It has been two long weeks since the gut wrenching blowout loss to none other than, well Gardner Webb.  The Cats bounced back with a much stronger effort in the 80-54 victory over Liberty. Freshman Patrick Patterson poured in a career high 23 points and was relentless from tip off until he final horn. Joe Crawford added 22 points of his own in what now will hopefully calm down the suicide watch for Kentucky fans at least until the next game.  Kentucky still struggled in stretches during the first half and the early part of the second, but a much better effort and concentration this time out helped put the game away. Much fire and scrutiny had been thrown out with what most call the worst loss in the history of the program when GW stormed into Rupp and left the crowd speechless, but Billy G went back to work and promised the fanbase that the team would improve and get better. There was no doubt that has happened, as the Cats gave a full effort despite still missing several pieces of the roster. From here the team just needs to keep plugging away and trying to get better every day. The season is not a sprint, it is a marathon, but with the limited big men and athletic ability at certain positions, there must be a 100% effort given every night to make up for those short comings. It feels a little more relaxing after the victory tonight, that is until the Cats take the court again.  GO CATS!
