Cats smacked around in Oxford, lose to Ole Miss 71-69

ole-miss-oxford Someone forgot to tell Kentucky that this was supposed to be their easy tune-up game.  After a painful lack of awareness resulted in a UK shot clock violation with 14 seconds left and the Cats clinging to a one-point lead, Ole Miss' Chris Warren came out of a timeout and knocked down a deep three with 2.9 seconds to go, which ultimately would prove to be the game-winner.  For the Cats, falling to the Rebels, who were winless in the conference at home and 1-5 overall, Tuesday's performance easily rates as the worst outing of the season.  And it came in front of a crowd that looked to be at half capacity even with a t-shirt and gas card promotiong.  With questions already prevalent regarding their ability to win on the road, the Cats again failed to step up to the plate and, in doing so, failed to do the two things that Coach Cal said he expected this season.  They did not get a full 40 minutes from anyone and the veteran players let him down badly.  It's going to be an interesting couple of days leading up to the Gators in Gainesville. We'll have more in a few... ON THE BRIGHT SIDE:  Jeff Goodman is reporting that his sources say U of L will not recruit Ricardo "Ricky" Ledo now that he has decommitted from Providence.  That leaves the Cats sittin awfully pretty with him.  Cheer you up just a teeny tiny bit?
