The No. 13 Cats defeated the Cards, who had a 22-8 record, 4-0. The game started off slow for both teams but escalated for Kentucky during the fifth and sixth innings. Defensively, Breanne Ray made big plays during the final minutes of the match by hitting a three-run-homer to give UK a 4-0 lead. Many other players stepped up and contributed to the final score of the game. Maisie Steed and Ansley Smith both provided a hit and a run to the total, and Nikki Sagermann added a run. Christian Stokes, Kara Howard, and Rachael Metzger also contributed runs. Offensively, Kelsey Nunley earned the victory to tie for the current school record of 68 career wins. She did not allow any runs and only five hits during the game. Kentucky will take on the Cards again at John Cropp Stadium on April 21st. Until then, the Cats are set to play a triple-header against Alabama this weekend at John Cropp Stadium. https://twitter.com/KYwildcatsTV/status/583426331234463744
