The CBS Sports Classic is moving to Cleveland and it is taking the upcoming Kentucky-UCLA basketball game with it.
UK Basketball announced today that its December 19 game against the UCLA Bruins will take place at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, at 4:15 pm in the afternoon. The game is part of the CBS Sports Classic doubleheader (also featuring UNC-Ohio State!) and it is only the second confirmed game on UK's 2020-21 schedule.
As for fan attendance at the game, the release says, "Fan attendance at the 2020 CBS Sports Classic continues to be evaluated."
Cleveland can now say it has something in common with Las Vegas, the host of last year's CBS Sports Classic. Chicago, Brooklyn and New Orleans have also hosted the event in years past.
Kentucky is 1-1 against UCLA and 3-3 in CBS Sports Classic history.
