Central Arkansas Scottie Pippens Tonight!!!!

by:Matt Jones11/06/07
cwent I couldnt find a shot of their cheerleaders that I liked, so I went with their much hotter volleyball team. Tonight is a big night as the Kentucky basketball season opens up against the men of Central Arkansas. Little is known about this mysterious University and thanks to Mosley's singular focus on Vandy this week, we dont get a "Know Your Enemy" post to teach us about our fair opponents. Nevertheless, when you mention Central Arkansas (and we speak of little else), you immediately think about Scottie Pippen. Michael Jordan's official second fiddle is the most famous alumnus of a University that aspires to be "an Ivy league institution in the heart of Arkansas" (good luck). As for their basketball team, it is relatively new to Division I and comes to us from the NAIA and then Division II. Its team this year is experienced and athletic and will start a lineup of 3 Seniors and 2 Juniors. As for basketball ability.....well, who knows....but what matters for Kentucky is that it continue to improve and play up to its strengths. I will be watching to see how Mark Coury reacts to a more athletic front line.....if Perry Stevenson can show more improvement on offense.....and whether AJ Stewart will see his minutes increase with the injury to Razor Ramon. The Cats should handle this relatively easy, but dont be surprised if it remains close for a while as the Cats shake off a little early season nervousness. The line is Cats by 28.....smart money is on Central Arkansas to beat the spread. And just for kicks, here is the beloved Central Arkansas fight song....it wont be used much tonight.... Go-Go-Fight Bears You will lead us on to victory Hey, go-fight-win team Bears will charge the field and never yield So, GO BEARS, GO! We've got the spir-it, and we'll show our colors Here tonight-so let's cheer The Purple and the Gray Team The Mighty BEARS will win the FIGHT!
