Champ Kelly named Miami Dolphins interim general manager

The coaching carousel is off and running in college football. There is no stopping it at this point. The NFL is starting to get there. The Tennessee Titans recently fired Brian Callahan. Mike McDaniel could be next, but he lasted longer than his general manager.
The Miami Dolphins made a big move after Thursday night’s home loss to the Baltimore Ravens. General manager Chris Grier is out.
Former Kentucky standout Champ Kelly will replace him as interim general manager. The former defensive back and wide receiver at UK has been in pro football scouting since 2007.

Kelly played at Kentucky from 1999-01. In his final season, the receiver caught 10 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown. Now he will lead the Dolphins in what feels like a lost season for the AFC East franchise. A search for a new permanent general manager and new head coach feels almost certain now. Kelly will audition for the job over the last half of the NFL season.
