Last week a number of seniors and underclassmen announced their intentions to leave for the NFL Draft or return for the 2021 season. Throughout it all, Chris Rodriguez remained quiet. Some in the BBN worried his silence may bring bad news. That's not the case. "I'm not going anywhere," he told KSR this afternoon. Kentucky's leading rusher in 2020 picked up 785 yards and 11 touchdowns on only 119 carries. No other SEC rusher with more than 50 carries averaged more yards per attempt (6.6) than C-Rod, who was named a second team All-American by Pro Football Focus. He was not tackled behind the line of scrimmage until Kentucky met N.C. State in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. Three years removed from graduating high school, in theory he could have tried to become an early entry into the NFL Draft. There's one thing the worriers did not consider: Rodriguez is only 20 years old. He was just 17 at the start of his true freshman season, the youngest player on the football team. Most importantly, Rodriguez has unfinished business in Lexington. Despite his success, he never truly became the featured back in 2020. Next fall he has the opportunity to led UK's offense into the future as a reliable weapon on the ground. Kentucky's rushing attack is in good hands with Rodriguez in 2021. https://twitter.com/UKFootball/status/1349420385750704128?s=20
