John Calipari is a trailblazer in basketball recruiting. He's been at the top of the game since he landed at Kentucky in 2009 and everyone else strives to be him, often imitating his tactics (See: Krzyzewski, Mike) and strategy.
Today, we learned a new innovative way Cal is ahead of the pack, via
a story Kevin Knox shared on his USA Today blog. Knox wrote,
"Coach Cal brought this panoramic video on an iPad or something and I could walk around inside of Rupp! It’s like I was actually there. It was crazy!"
Knox called it a tie for "Best Presentation" with Roy Williams, who brought pictures of Knox in a North Carolina jersey. (Lame.)
So how 'bout that? Cal's packing around an interactive, virtual Rupp Arena for recruits to tour from the comfort of their own home. That's pretty cool, right? It won't be long before Coach K is doing it, too.
