In his latest Lexy audio tweet (still not entirely sure what these are), Coach Cal manages to find the silver lining in the Cats’ loss yesterday at Vandy. He said that despite turnovers and defensive breakdowns, the Cats didn’t actually look that bad (it also helps that most of the top 25 doesn’t look that great, either). Terrence Jones and Josh Harrellson have recaptured the magic they exhibited earlier in the season and Brandon Knight and DeAndre Liggins are finally stepping up when the team needs them to. Doron and Darius? Well, “they need to be better.”

Cal also says that for the Cats to finish games, they need to “forget about scoring” and focus on executing on offense and defense. When they focus on the score, they psych themselves out and pass the ball like a hot potato around the perimeter. Perhaps the most comforting part of the recording? Cal’s insistence that the team is getting better and still has a month to tweak and get things right before the tournament.
