Coach Stoops is unfazed heading into The Swamp

It's Florida hate week, but Mark Stoops is remarkably calm. During today's post-practice press conference, the head coach was unwavering in his serenity. The Cats are approximately 48 hours away from what could become a make-or-break game of the season. And while the version of Stoops the media sees is no doubt vastly different from the one players see in the locker room, he seemed rather... unfazed by the loom of the Swamp. "Certainly we know they're a hostile environment and it's always difficult," Stoops said. "I think we embrace that challenge, and these guys have been through it quite a few times." Several of this season's key players were also contributors in last year's heartbreaking loss. Is the team using that sentiment to generate an added competitive spark? In typical coach fashion, Stoops pumped the breaks on any talk of the "revenge factor." "Whatever we need to use for motivation, we could use it. If an individual needs to use it, they can," Stoops said. "But last year's game, because of [Florida's] new staff, you don't really watch it too much. I think our players know that we had a missed opportunity." He also touched on Benny Snell sharing time with A.J. Rose and, of course, the quarterback battle.
