The Somerset Briar Jumpers will host the Lexington Christian Eagles on Friday night. Before there action begins on the gridiron, at 5 pm KSR will be at the Somerset Kroger at 50 Stonegate Center. Kroger gift cards will be given to those that say, “Kroger Presents the KSR Game of the Week.” Come see us.  Somerset is the defending 2A state champions. The Jumpers only loss in 2019 was to Lexington Christian in the regular season. The Eagles converted a 2-point conversion late in the contest to seal the deal.  Somerset is led by UK quarterback commit Kaiya Sheron. The senior signal caller threw for 3,218 yards and 28 touchdowns a year ago. He’s 59/97 for 1,119 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. His primary target is UofL baseball commit Kade Grundy. Grundy leads the team with 529 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns.  2A Lexington Christian is coming off a 40-6 loss to 5A Frederick Douglass. The Eagles are led by a trio of juniors: WR/DB Mason Moore, WR/DB Xavier Brown, and QB Drew Nieves. Nieves is 81/140 and has passed for 1,189 yards in 2020. Xavier Brown has caught 27 passes for 622-yards and 8 scores and has been offered by Maryland and Boston College.  Friday's Kroger KSR Game of the Week should be a good one between two 2A powers.
