Could the Cats Sneak into the Outback Bowl?

by:Matt Jones12/01/09
outback Just when fans had all but made reservations for another trip to Nashville after Christmas, last night some new information arrived. ESPN blogger Chris Low said on a Nashville radio station that the Outback Bowl is still seriously considering taking Kentucky as its SEC representative, despite the loss to Tennessee. This report was then expounded on a bit in Knoxville area newspapers and blogs today, as sources in Tennessee are saying that UK and UT are the final two choices for the Outback Bowl. If the Outback takes UT, the Cats drop to the Music City (likely) and if it takes UK, then the Vols end up in Atlanta. Could this really be the case? Is the Big Blue Nation so strong that a Bowl could look at these six teams (UK, UT, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina and Arkansas) and decide that their top choice is the Big Blue? The Cats in the Outback would bring a SWARM of fans and would probably make us forget what happened in Commonwealth on Saturday night. No other sources are reporting what we are hearing from Knoxville and I have heard no similar rumblings on the UK end. But if it happened...well that would be quite a feat for the guys in Blue.
