Trevathan Crushes the Ball Carrier for One of His 117 Tackles He racked up as a Senior

National signing day is quickly approaching and the recruiting battles around the country are heating up at a ferocious pace. The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off back to back bowl victories for the first time since 1950-51, and the recruiting momentum is gaining steam as the Cats look to elevate from consistent bowl team to SEC title contender.

Leading up to signing day, every day there will be an update on KSR whether it be pertaining to a recruiting target that Coach Brooks and staff are after, current commitments, and breaking down the class with evaluation of how the 2008 recruiting class will impact the Wildcats beginning next season and in the future.

Today’s hot topic-

Danny Trevathan6’3 215 OLBLeesburg (FL) Leesburg UPDATE: DANNY COMMITTED TO CATS TODAY!!!!!

Danny Trevathan Is Defensive Coaches Dream; Tough, Fast, and Loves To Hit. Offer Sheet:  Kentucky, Ole Miss, Purdue, Central Florida, Arkansas, Arizona State, Indiana

Recently named the Central Florida defensive player of the year, Trevathan was an animal on the football field during his senior campaign racking up 117 tackles while leading his Leesburg high school to team to the district championship. A new name on the radar, the UK coaching staff continues to find a few prospects every year that none of the recruiting experts have been speaking of, and eventually find major production from them once they arrive on campus.

At 6’3 215 pounds, Trevathan is idea size and weight to play the Will linebacker position for the Kentucky Wildcats. The biggest attribute about this prospect is he can run, run, run. A speedster to the ball that brings an attitude in his pocket once he gets there. In case you haven’t noticed, coach Brooks is loading up with speed on the defensive side of the ball, and if UK could grab a commitment from Danny Trevathan, that trend of adding will once again continue.

Commitment prediction: Absolutely loved his visit to Lexington this past weekend. If everything works out with his grades, he will sport the Blue and White.
