Since the season ended, Dakari Johnson's been putting in major work, shedding pounds and improving his conditioning. So far, he's worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies, who both have late first round/early second round picks. Dakari told Draft Express he's got seven or eight more workouts lined up before the Draft, and he's proud of the work he's done on his jump shot. "As a shooter, I think I'm working on it a lot," Dakari said. "Don has me taking a lot of jump shots. I think I'm really improving. I think that's one thing that a lot of people are going to be shocked at, that I can shoot the ball a little bit." That's all fine and good, but this tidbit at the end of the interview caught my eye. What would Dakari do for a living if he wasn't playing basketball? "I always wanted to be a veterinarian," Dakari said. "But after I started dissecting pigs in middle school, I don't think that dream lasted long." I couldn't even get over dissecting a frog, let alone a pig. See some of Dakari's progress in this video from Draft Express.
