Dan Werner, aka 2006 recruit that Kentucky is most likely to have in the lineup next season, arrived on campus yesterday for his official visit to UK.  One of the great thing about living in and around Lexington is that when such visits occur, the town is small enough that everyone gets the scoop.  Thus the big scoop from  yesterday.....Tubby, Werner, his family and Woo (YEAH) went to Joe Bolognas for lunch. 

Yes you read that right ladies and gentlemen, Tubby took Werner to Joe Bolognas.  The levels of obsessed fandom were shown yesterday when some fans, and i am not kidding about this, attempted to analyze what the decision to go to Joe Bolognas meant about the recruitment.  I have always been a fan of Joe B's but I have never really considered the existential nature of what stepping foot inside its four walls can actually mean.

Whatever it means however, the possibility of Werner at UK is looking more and more likely.  Most who know him say that it will either be Notre Dame or Kentucky.  And while I may have been slightly hesitant at first, I see a Steve Novak of Marquette-type future for this kid....and a strong shooting big man has really not been at Kentucky since Padgett in the late 90s.  I admit to hoping things work out with this recruitment.....especially if it means that we are able to "lose" out on the Phil Jones affair.
