I don’t want to settle.” These are the words of former Kentucky Wildcat, Danny Trevathan, in an article published by the Chicago Tribune. Trevathan, now a Chicago Bear, had a chance to sit down with the Tribune and gave fans a little insight into his daily drive to succeed and improve. Following a very successful 2016, Trevathan is constantly looking to persevere and avoid the temptations that life can throw at you. He reminds himself of this with a tattoo on his calf of Samson and the Bible. “What stuck out to me is that Samson had so much temptation. There’s always temptation in this world wanting you to mess up, wanting you to go the opposite way. But as long as you keep your eyes forward and keep your faith, you’ll be all right.”
Previously a member of the Denver Broncos, Trevathan was a member of the 2016 Super Bowl Champions. This was followed by a free agency that subsequently landed him a $24.5 million contract with the Bears. “He has this great energy to him,” General Manager Ryan Pace said. “You meet guys like that. He just lights up a room. The practices are energized because of him.”
His Super Bowl performance was all of the necessary proof to conclude how hard Trevathan has worked to get where he is. With eight tackles and two fumble recoveries on Super Bowl Sunday, he is nothing short of ready for whatever opponents throw at him this season. A new team for Trevathan this season simply means another chance to keep moving forward.
