Darius Miller is headed to the Oklahoma City Thunder where he will join Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Hamidou Diallo, along with Nerlens Noel should he decide to return to the franchise in free agency.

Miller has been traded to OKC as part of a four-team trade that will send Steven Adams to New Orleans, joining the Jrue Holiday-to-Milwaukee trade announced earlier this week that also included Eric Bledsoe to the Pelicans.

Here is what the complicated trade looks like at this time:

  • Milwaukee receives: Jrue Holiday
  • Oklahoma City receives: Darius Miller, George Hill, protected first-round pick in 2023 (via Denver), second-round pick in 2023 (via New Orleans), second-round pick in 2024 (via New Orleans)
  • New Orleans receives: Eric Bledsoe, Steven Adams, 2024 right to swap first-rounder (Milwaukee), 2025 unprotected first (via Milwaukee), 2026 right to swap first-rounder (via Milwaukee) and 2027 unprotected first (via Milwaukee)
  • Denver receives: Draft rights to first-round pick RJ Hampton

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the framework of the deal.

After being drafted in the second round by New Orleans back in 2012, the former Kentucky forward spent time in the G League and playing professionally overseas in Germany before returning to the Pelicans in 2017 for a second stint. Last offseason, Miller signed a two-year, $14.25 million deal with the Pelicans before undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon on August 29, 2019.

Now ready to return to the floor, Miller will do so alongside a few other former Kentucky Wildcats in Oklahoma City.
