(Photo via Rivals.com) Not all news coming from last night’s game is bad news. According to Steve Jones of the Courier-Journal, Darren Dowdell, a tight end from Atlanta was in Lexington on an unofficial visit and committed to Kentucky. Dowdell is a 6-foot-4, 232 pound tight end from Grady High School in Atlanta. He said after the visit that, “It felt like home as soon as I set foot on campus.” Dowdell is unranked by Rivals, but chose UK over offers from NC State, Louisville, Indiana, Maryland, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech, among others. He isn’t at all discouraged by the team’s 1-4 start this season. He is ready to come in and make an impact next season, “I feel like I can change the program, that I can make plays when they need it.”
