ESPN recently updated its Top 100 for the class of 2013, as well as the rankings for 2014-15.
Dave Telep spent some time discussing the new rankings, and surprise, surprise, Kentucky's in good shape with the top players in all three years. For 2013, there were no significant changes at the top:
Jabari Parker stays at number one, followed by Andrew Harrison, Julius Randle, Aaron Harrison, James Young, and Aaron Gordon. Folks around here seem to be less and less confident about Parker, who is rumored as a Duke lean, but the other five in that group are very real possibilities, if not probabilities (looking at you, James Young) for future Kentucky commitments.
For 2013, again, no earth-shattering news.
According to Telep: "Andrew Wiggins became the best high school basketball prospect in the land this summer." Still no word on whether he plans to reclassify, but regardless of his year, it's good that a superlative like that is being given to a Kentucky target.
2015 just got a couple mentions, but
recent Kentucky favorite, and Dominican national team staple Karl Towns, Jr. got the first shout-out as the leader of a trio of talented big men.
Overall, Telep's four-plus minute video was spent almost entirely talking about Kentucky recruits. It's no surprise, then, that he mentioned the inevitable, pointing to a UK logo placed surreptitiously over the other school logos:
What's gonna happen? We're waiting on these guys, the University of Kentucky; they're involved with a lot of top five players. Will they strike again?
I don't think the question is "will Kentucky strike again?" but rather, "how bad will it hurt when they do?"
