Dean Hood turns down offer to join UK's staff

Last week, Mark Stoops traveled to Charlotte to convince former Eastern Kentucky head coach Dean Hood to join his staff, likely as a replacement for Andy Buh, the former outside linebackers and special teams coach. Apparently, his sales pitch wasn't enough. According to WKYT's Steve Moss, Hood turned down the offer to join Stoops' staff and will remain the associate head coach at Charlotte. Hood was the head coach at EKU for eight years up until the Colonels let him go in November after a 6-5 season. In December, he joined Charlotte's staff as associate head coach and tight ends coach.
