DeAndre Liggins, Jorts Win Final Roster Spots

by:Kristen Geil10/27/12
It's official: DeAndre Liggins and Josh Harrellson have teams for the NBA season. Liggins will be playing this season for the Oklahoma City Thunder after the team waived Andy Rautins, Hollis Thompson, and fellow former cat Daniel Orton. In five preseason games, Liggins started twice and 4.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals while playing around twenty minutes per game. While his scoring wasn't especially prolific, he was a consistent wing player and impressed the OKC staff with his defensive tenacity and ability to impact the game in ways besides scoring. Jorts, meanwhile, will be partying in the city where Heat is on, all night, on the beach, til the break of dawn. Jorts was believed to have been competing with Garrett Temple and Terrel Harris for the final roster spot; Temple was waived today, and Harris was signed along with Harrellson.   On a sadder note, Jamaal Magloire was waived by the Toronto Raptors, although there's a shot the organization will create a spot for him on the staff, mixing coaching with community work. The coaches have admired his knack for connecting with younger big men and acting as a mentor and want to continue to use him in the organization.   Should we end this with a monster block by Anthony Davis? Sure, why not.     @KristenGeilKSR
