Kentucky did not sign a running back in the 2025 high school cycle after seeing commit Marquise Davis (Missouri) and Isaiah West (Ohio State) ultimately flip to other programs. That has made that position even more important in this cycle.

A key target has now locked in an official visit.

Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville tailback Delvecchio “Deuce” Alston II will make the trek north to Lexington next month to visit the Cats. Running backs coach Jay Boulware is running point on this recruitment.

Delvecchio Alston II received a scholarship offer from Kentucky on April 29 and has locked in an official visit less than a month later. The tailback will take an official visit to Minnesota next weekend. Memphis is also involved in this recruitment.

Amari Thomas-Clemons also has an official visit locked in with Kentucky in June. The board is a bit thin at tailback but there are two options on the table. Now the Cats will attempt to close on each when official visit season gets kicked off in June.

Delvechhio Alston will be on campus for an official visit at the same time as Thomas-Clemons, J.T. Barlow (cornerback), Darnell Collins (safety), Larry Miles (wide receier), Adam Balogoun-Ali (linebacker), Justin “J.J.” Edwards (linebacker), and Keymian Henderson (wide receiver). This is setting up to be a very important recruiting weekend for the program.
