As unrestricted free agency looms next off-season for former Kentucky standout DeMarcus Cousins the big man has reportedly dropped 20 pounds over the last few months in preparation for his first full season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Cousins told ESPN's Marc J. Spears, "It feels good, probably the best I have felt my whole career." The Pelicans Head Coach Alvin Gentry is pleased with the results from Boogie's off-season regimen and excepts the All-NBA Center to take on a different role this season. "When I saw DeMarcus, his body looked great. He invited us to his house for lunch; he’s eating really healthy – he’s got a chef that he’s hired. I was really, really excited about what he’s taken from the standpoint of trying to get himself ready for the season and obviously he feels like this is a very important season for him." (WDSU) This is a big year for Boogie in terms of financial gains as he will make max money on the open market next June but it is also a big season for Cousins to prove to doubters that he can lead his team to the playoffs. The West is stacked with quality teams but don't sleep on Boogie and The Brow down in New Orleans.
